Gregory Corbin served six years in the United States Army as a medic and Non-Commissioned Officer. The job of a medic is not just technical. It is relational. You show up when things are at their worst, you stay calm, and you do not leave until the person in front of you is taken care of. That mindset has shaped everything Gregory has built since.
After leaving the military, Gregory joined Heartland Payment Systems as a Territory Manager, one of the largest and most recognized names in the payment processing industry. He did not just work there. He excelled. Gregory ranked 24th out of more than 4,000 sales representatives nationwide and qualified for the company incentive trip, a distinction earned by only a fraction of the organization. He was also the fastest person to fully vest in Heartland's 35 year history.
But what he saw on the inside of that industry was not always something he was proud of. Merchants being locked into contracts they did not understand. Hidden fees that crept up over time. Business owners who trusted their agent and got taken advantage of for it. Gregory saw it happen repeatedly and decided that if he was going to be in this industry, he was going to do it differently.
So he founded Velora Payments. Not to be the biggest merchant services company in the Pacific Northwest, but to be the most trustworthy one. Processor agnostic from day one, because no business owner should ever get one option from an agent with a conflict of interest. Transparent on pricing, because hidden fees are not a business model, they are a betrayal.
Today Gregory is building Velora alongside a team he is genuinely proud of, serving small businesses across Idaho, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Montana. He is married to a beautiful wife and expecting their first child. He will tell you that becoming a father has only sharpened his sense of why integrity in business matters.
