Velora Payments exists because of what its founder saw on the inside of a major processor.
Gregory Corbin spent his early career in high-accountability environments — volunteer firefighter at nineteen, then U.S. Army, where he served as a medic, volunteered for special operations selection, and completed advanced trauma training that culminated in arctic operations in Alaska. That background built a specific operating standard: when something matters, you own the outcome and you don't make excuses.
Inside the big processor
After transitioning out of the military, Gregory moved into SaaS and technology-enabled sales and eventually landed inside one of the largest payment processors in the country. He saw exactly how the model works — the hidden fees, the rate creep, the call-center support that never quite resolves anything, and how often small business owners get taken advantage of without even knowing it.
That experience is what pushed him to start Velora. The goal was simple: build a merchant services company where pricing and support are controlled directly, the merchant comes first, and there's no captive loyalty to any one processor.
What military values look like in merchant services
Accountability — when something is broken, we fix it, and we tell you what went wrong. Transparency — your statement gets walked through line by line, and we don't bury margin in fees you can't decode. No BS — we won't oversell a platform that isn't right, and we'll tell you when your existing setup is actually fine.
Processor agnostic fits naturally into that. With no financial loyalty to any one processing network, the recommendation is always the platform that fits your business — Genius Restaurant, Genius Retail, ePOS, Clover, Bypass dual pricing, Rectangle Health for healthcare, or credit card processing for Verifone Commander fuel sites.
Who Velora works with
Restaurants, retail, dental and medical practices, independent fuel sites, salons, contractors, and food trucks across Idaho, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Montana. Real businesses run by real people who built something from nothing.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Velora Payments veteran owned?
- Yes. Velora Payments was founded and is operated by Gregory Corbin, a U.S. Army veteran who served as a medic and worked inside one of the largest payment processors in the country before founding Velora.
- How does veteran ownership affect how Velora operates?
- Military values — accountability, transparency, and no BS — shape how Velora works with merchants. We walk statements line by line, we own outcomes when something breaks, and we recommend the right platform rather than the one that pays us most.
- What does processor agnostic mean for a veteran-owned merchant services company?
- It means no financial loyalty to any one payment processor. Velora goes direct to multiple processors and recommends whichever one fits the merchant best, which is consistent with the accountability standard the company was founded on.
